Rich, warm, and inviting. Sumac blends modern design with a Moroccan influence and sweeping curtains to create a sense of intimacy in a large space.

Picture dark wooden hand etched floorboards, dark metal latticework and traditional Moroccan hanging lamps. A dramatic floor-to-ceiling cream curtain sweeps along one side of the room and a bronze mirrored bar stands at one end. The high-ceilinged space features luxurious rich tones – a reference to the spice from which Sumac takes its name.

The venue offers a culinary experience influenced by Moroccan and Middle Eastern cuisine, ensuring Sumac lives up to the example set by the land of its inspiration. The gently spiced menu includes an extensive array of plated dishes as well as an exciting mix of food stations and bars.

Located on the Melbourne waterfront at Central Pier, Sumac is housed in the heritage-listed Shed 14. Easily adaptable to many different styles and tastes, daytime events highlight Sumacs natural beauty while by night the ambient chameleon is transformed by soft lighting.
