Without a doubt one of Perth’s most iconic venues, Universal Bar on William Street has been the home of functions and live entertainment in Perth for more than two decades and has recently won the AHA’s Award for WA Best Late Night Venue and Best Live Entertainment Venue.

Universal Bar boasts an incredible cocktail, beer and wine list. Being one of Perth’s favorite function venues, Universal Bar can cater for groups any size. The Rooftop Terrace Bar is centered around comfort and sophistication and features the New Orleans elements of downstairs cleverly mixed with the nostalgic features of the old building and is perfect for groups of 50 or more guests.

Along with the Rooftop Terrace Bar we have three additional function spaces located in the downstairs areas, Universal Bar can tailor functions to suit any need and any size.

From corporate events and birthdays through to sundowners and cocktail parties, Universal Bar offers attractive drinks specials, gourmet food platters, and most importantly; a unique and memorable experience for our customers.

 

Rooftop Terrace Bar 

The Rooftop Terrace Bar is the perfect place to hold functions all year round. This private bar features a large outdoor alfresco area with retractable roof, presentation facilities and state art sound system. The Rooftop Terrace Bar is available for exclusive hire Friday and Saturday nights until 11pm (availability to extend beyond this time, fees apply).  Capacity of up to 130 guests.

 

Back Lounge Bar

An extremely popular area for cocktail parties, the Back Lounge Bar is situated downstairs at Universal Bar. The area is designed for functions of 20 – 90 guests and whilst still in the main room of Universal, it is roped off exclusively for your group until 9pm.

 

Front Bar

Situated at the front of the venue downstairs, 2 areas are available (Dance Floor area and Window area), the Front Bar is perfect for functions of 15-40 guests. The areas are close to the stage and space is reserved for guests to utilize until 9pm, after which time the space becomes open to general public use also. Front Bar is suitable for birthday parties, work functions, small gatherings, Hen’s/Buck’s Nights, and going away parties!

 

Deck Bar

The Deck Bar is a purpose built raised deck area situated directly in front of Universal Bar on William Street. Furnished with high-top tables and stools with festoon lighting above. Guests can use this area in an exclusive capacity until 11pm with up to 36 patrons.
