Saké is making a splash at Manly this spring, get ready for bespoke gin, sashimi, and sunset views over the manly wharf. Saké puts its signature super-fusion stamp on the seaside suburb. The new venue has been architecturally designed by Luchetti Krelle which accentuates views of Manly Cove. The new space features floor-to-ceiling, bi-fold windows and doors open to a spectacular al fresco terrace that seats 50 people and gives diners inside and out breathtaking ocean views.
Saké caters to all. With a succession of four private dining rooms, each seating six guests, you can have your intimate private parties and still enjoy everything Saké has to offer. Each room is divided by identical moongates – traditional circular openings found in Japanese architecture. Timber dowel sliding screens inspired by sushi rolling mats can be closed to section off each room, or raised to join pairs of rooms and create larger spaces for when you are having a bigger party!
The menu too, caters to all occasions. It boasts a superb selection of made-to-order bites from the robata grill to accompany delicious drinks, sushi bar nibbles, a long lunch, celebratory dinner, or pick-up from the pre-order counter for ferry trippers and locals. Saké’s authentic Japanese cuisine, brings customers back again and again for another glimpse at life in Japan.
The a la carte menu boasts made-to-order nigiri, sashimi and sushi rolls. Saké classics such as hiramasa kingfish and popcorn shrimp complement dishes unique to the Manly outpost. There is a play on Manly’s beach-side setting in whimsical, bite-sized sashimi and vege cones and crisp fish tempura with tartar sauce.
If you’re after refreshing drinks, Saké has four sensational gin bowls, which are a careful marriage of bespoke gin and specialty tonic, creatively presented with a collection of beautiful botanicals. One Japanese and three Australian gins, including one from Manly Spirits Co feature in these contemporary infusions.
Saké has an exclusive range of cocktails on offer as well, with 10 different varieties, created with the team from Manly Spirits Co, add a splash of fun and showcase Japanese spirits, liqueurs, ingredients and garnishes.
