Sometimes here at Hidden City Secrets we like to talk about venues that are “for everybody”. This is definitely not one of those venues. So if you do not like fun, frivolity and the absurd, click away now – this one’s not for you.
Okay so now all the boring people are gone, let’s talk about The Bamboozle Room.
I’ve done a bit of research to help those of us who’s understanding of Burlesque comes from the 2010 film with XTina (that’s Christina Aguilera for Gen Z babies like myself who didn’t know that).
Burlesque is an eccentric style of live performance that originated in the 1840s. Burlesque performances often feature dance, acting, comedy, mime, circus acts, as well as elements of strip tease, although everything at the Bamboozle Room remains strictly PG13 (unless there is a costume malfunction, and then we’ll all be in for a lesson in human anatomy).
The Bamboozle Room has been bringing all things fun and frivolous since 2016 and has since become Sydney’s highest rated burlesque, comedy and cabaret dinner show venue.
Their Talk & Tease Show has returned due to popular demand and has everything from cheeky solo acts, to stand-up comedy.
Tickets start at $70pp for the performance, or make it dinner and a show for just an extra $50 for a 2 course meal.
If you love a Sunday Sesh then you’re in luck. All the Sunday shows are currently on sale, so get in quick before they’re sold out!
Now this may surprise you, but stay with me. The Bamboozle Room is actually a very popular spot for work events (Because nothing says team-building activity like big feather fans and circus tricks).
So if you can manage to convince Gertrude from HR to book this one, trust me, you’ll be in for a treat.
In fact, The Bamboozle Room is able to accommodate just about any type of group bookings, from Hens and Bucks Parties to Divorce Parties (yep, it’s a thing), The Bamboozle Room will be there to look after you.
What better way to celebrate your new single life than sipping on bubbles and taking a burlesque workshop while surrounded by your best mates? I can’t think of one, can you?
