If Valentine’s Day isn’t the most important day of your year as a couple, do you even relationship?!!? February 14th should not be taken lightly. Yes, it may be a day filled with admiration, doting, love, and all that other gushy stuff, but you’re forgetting one thing –EXPECTATION. With so much riding on this big day, you don’t want to leave your other half disappointed now, do you? No, I didn’t think so.
Instead of taking your significant other to see Fifty Shades Freed and ‘going all out’ on a large popcorn and drink (which will cost more than your HECS debt anyway), why not do it properly? I assure you, the extra brownie points will be well worth it. We’ve already put in the hard yards and compiled a list of the Top Five Valentine’s Day Venues to treat bae (all with a cocktail in hand, of course)!
The Butler
123 Victoria St, Potts Point NSW
This Potts Point gem has an outdoor, forest-like garden setting and panoramic views of the Sydney city skyline. Need we say more? Make a booking! Nothing says romance like a That Flaming Juan cocktail in one hand and your partner’s hand in the other (cue ‘awwwwww’ sounds). Whilst being surrounded by great food, drinks, company, and beautiful city views, this will be a night neither of you will ever forget (you can thank me later).
Did I mention the great view?

Bondi Icebergs Club
1 Notts Ave, Bondi NSW
For a place named after the murderer of the Titanic, this is actually a very romantic venue. If you want to recreate the iconic “Jack, I’m flying” scene whilst overlooking the Bondi Icebergs swimming pool, go right ahead! With a jug of Purple Haze and an assortment of delicious food items at your table, even proposing won’t seem out of the question. North Bondi Fish
120 Ramsgate Ave, North Bondi NSW
A venue serving high-quality seafood across from the beach? It would almost be rude not to go! This beach-side restaurant literally screams romantic and ‘I love you’. Not only is this place perfect for a meal and drinks, you can even go for a sneaky dip across the road when you’re done (and totally frolic in the surf like Noah and Allie in The Notebook and OMG FEELS). Make this Valentine’s Day one you tell your grandkids about in the years to come.

China Doll
4/6 Cowper Wharf Rd, Woolloomooloo NSW
Valentine’s Day isn’t Valentine’s Day without a nice view. Cue China Doll and its wonderful position overlooking Woolloomooloo Bay – a couple’s dream location. This modern Asian restaurant is a Sydney institution, taking your tastebuds on an exotic journey through flavour town. There’s a saying that goes “the way to a person’s heart is through his/her stomach.” If this is true, you will be professing your undying love to each other in no time at all.
The Glenmore
96 Cumberland St, The Rocks NSW
This one is sure to leave your partner speechless. With sweeping, million dollar (180 degree!!!) views of Sydney Harbour and the CBD, your partner will be screaming “YES” from this fancy rooftop before you’ve even popped the question. The large, signature cocktail list will keep you coming back for more, while the view will leave you both with mouths gaping and hearts racing. This is basically a real-life Disney film on steroids, amiright?
