Eastside Bar and Grill

The ever-growing Kensington Street culinary precinct in Chippendale features one of Sydney’s best grill restaurants, Eastside Grill.

Located on the first floor of The Old Rum Store, this space evokes the atmosphere of New York’s meatpacking district. Dark, sexy and theatrical, this restaurant features a leather panelled-bar with bronze back bar display, custom brass lighting fixtures and an assortment of wood, steel and leather tables and chairs that surround an open air kitchen.

Spice House

Spice House is the district’s newest function space. Nestled amidst Chippendale’s historic row of terraces, this upstairs space offers three cosy rooms and a balcony, each bursting with personality and adorned with Asian street art.

Follow the fiery red dragon up the stairs to experience the spicy flavour of Kensington Street, and don’t be fooled by this terrace’s unassuming exterior as this BYO restaurant features three adventurous private spaces.

Mekong
Level 2, 14 Kensington St, Chippendale

Located on Kensington Street overlooking the bustling Spice Alley, Mekong counterbalances all inner-city chaos with a calm and peaceful dining environment.

Mekong’s interior styling pays homage to the Mekong River, with natural light rippling in through high glass walls into a space buttressed by bamboo pylons that allow for a private and intimate dining experience

Mekong is led by award-winning executive chef Tiw Rakarin, who has developed menus that lend themselves perfectly to sharing. This menu will take you on a culinary journey through entrees, shared mains and desserts that have passed through generations of Indochine provinces.

Mekong’s unique upper level is available for functions of up to 80 people and provides the ideal atmosphere for both corporate and private events.
