Deus Cafe, also accurately known as The House of Simple Pleasures, has been sating the appetites and caffeinated the souls of motorcyclists, artists, mothers and brothers of the inner west for over a decade. Now they are introducing a Japanese cuisine takeover hosted by an authentic Japanese biker, bringing Japan to you for one night only!
Kicking off at 6pm on the 2nd of November at Deus Café, Chef Takeshi will begin his takeover. Having cooked Japanese cuisine for his entire life, Chef Takeshi sure knows his way around authentic dishes. He will be devising a selection of Japanese Kara-Age chicken, Braised Kakuni,Tako Yaki, Gyoza, and our favourite, the Beetroot Roll, and Garlic Butter Edamame. But that’s not all! Young Henrys and Jameson are the exclusive guests for the night, meaning each guest receives a complimentary beverage on arrival!
The House of Simple Pleasures is set in a 1600 square meter renovated factory building in Camperdown. Home to a retail space, motorcycle showroom, workshop facilities and design studio.
Connected to the showroom is the Deus Cafe, where locals of the inner west rub elbows at communal tables with riders gassing up on caffeine before their Saturday excursions. Classic bike accessories and books are on sale, while objects such as prints and paintings by artists such as Robert Williams, Stevie Gee, Robert Moore and Japanese artist, Rockin’ Jelly Bean are on display.
The philosophy of the Deus experience has always been reflected in the seasonal specialties served up by the chefs. From Poke bowls to house-baked Beef Pies, there is one consistent ingredient in every dish – an enthusiasm for uncomplicated, delicious food with a dash of the Deus special sauce. Just as the custom workshop next door creates two wheeled custom masterpieces, there is creativity and passion coming from the kitchen in Camperdown to surprise and delight the hungry crowds with bespoke culinary creations.
Ride on down to Deus Cafe to admire the unique space whilst indulging in outstanding Japanese meals! Check out the event listing on Facebook for more details.
