In 2017 the Cru team were on the hunt for a bigger venue; a perfect space to fulfil the demands and requests they were receiving.
A 1950’s mattress factory in a laneway caught the creative eye of the partners of Cru Wine Bar and it was then and there where they saw Crudo in all its glory. Their vision was to transform a small hidden factory into an event space and make it known throughout the lands of the eastern suburbs; this especially so as the eastern suburbs craved a large open and versatile space.
“Crudo distinguishes itself from other venues by being hidden away from the busy street scape to create an intimate venue for any event” – The Crudo Team.
Upon transforming the space into the versatile event space is it, the Cru Team took inspiration form the word “Crudo” (which translates to raw) and utilised the original material within the building. The Iron beams holding up the building, the 50’s style sand coloured bricks and the coarse concrete slabs were the crux of Crudo’s innovative design. They also transformed large Oregon pine beams into a glorious staircase and a wall feature throughout the building. Additionally, an open plan was created with a 50’s style wrought iron fire place to add to the ambience.
The Crudo Team have spent countless hours researching and interviewing future clients ensuring they had everything one needs for their event. Evidently, Crudo has a fully equipped kitchen and bar. Their goal includes creating flexible menus and wine lists that would cater to all styles and budgets.
Guests are able to decorate this space to their liking or have our in house events stylist create a design suited to their vision. They also have a quality audio system so you can dance the night away with friends, family and/or colleagues. Crudo has easy access for cars as well as pedestrians. There is no room hire or hidden costs.
