Don’t know what’s the craic for St Paddy’s Day? Fear not!
This year St Patrick’s Day falls on Friday 17th March, so prepare the liver for a long weekend of celebrations.
We have complied a list of the hottest parties to satisfy the inner Irishman. Grab your Lucky Charms, your pint of Guinness, and check out some of these parties to keep you busy all day and all night!

The Quiet Man Irish Pub

Don’t let the name fool you, The Quiet Man is the best place to check out this St Paddy’s Day! The Irish pub is known for its ridiculous parties, and on Friday it’ll be bigger and better than ever when they take over the whole street!
Quiet Man is the face for St Paddy’s Day, so make sure you wear green and get ready to party long into the night. Head down for a day of live music, food and drink and maybe get your mug on the TV!

P.J O’Brien’s has some good advice, “take the day off and make it a long weekend”, which sounds pretty bloody good to me.
If you can’t take the Friday off work, don’t worry, there will be celebrations held all weekend for you to check out!
The famous P.J O’Brien’s in Southbank will kick off its annual St Patrick’s Day festivities with a full Irish breakfast for $25, which also includes a pint of Guinness (maybe both at once).
Head down nice and early and have a hearty breakfast to line the stomach for a full day of drinking ahead. Bookings are essential so make sure you don’t miss out, click the link below to secure your spot.
There is also a lunch menu available if you miss out on breakfast.
On Saturday 18th, England takes on Ireland in the Six Nations, so the celebrations must continue! Breakfast will be available again and live music will continue from 4pm onwards. There’ll also be drink specials throughout the day!
If you haven’t had enough, head down again on Sunday 19th for the last day of the festivities. There will be a traditional Sunday roast served all day, get that and a pint of Bulmer’s for $20. Live music will entertain all day from 2pm onwards.

The Celtic Club in the CBD will be holding Pre-Paddy’s Day parties like Whiskey Tasting on Thursday night and a Guinness Pouring class on Wednesday. Check out one or both of these nights for a bit of history on the famous Irish drinks, and knock a few back in preparation of the big day on Friday!
Did somebody say free whiskey!? Hyde Irish Whiskey will be holding free tasting from 2-3pm on Friday. Yes please!
It’s their last St Paddy’s Day party in their iconic venue before its redeveloped, so make sure you come along and help them send off in style! There will be prizes handed out throughout the day and a bottle of Bailey’s for the best dressed!
There will be live entertainment and delicious Irish food being served all day so come down and celebrate with the best Irish bar in the city.

Dan O’Connell Hotel

What’s almost as good as U2? Melbourne based U2 cover band, “The U2 Show Actung Baby”!
They’re belting out some of the Irish band’s classics at Dan O’Connell’s, with other performances by The Ramshackle Army, Tim Scanlan and many more.
Spend the day at Dan O’Connell’s from 7am onward for a day full of food, music and good times. There will be trivia with prizes up for grabs from midday, and there will also be a special performance from The Christine Ayres school of Irish Dancing.
