Malaysia Street Festival at Queen Victoria Markets

Make way for Queen Victoria Markets’ Malaysia Street Festival this 11th October. Because Melbourne needs another food festival!

Queen Victoria Market is always playing host to some of the most exciting and unique events on offer in Melbourne. With a huge variety of venues contained in arguably the most iconic Melbourne site, there’s always something to do, see or get involved with.

This October the 11th sees the Malaysia Street Festival take over the Market. People can expect some of the finest “authentic Malaysian food, as well as dishes influenced by the Japanese, Dutch, Spanish and Portuguese.”

But it’s not only the culinary experience of Malaysia on offer, with family friendly activities on offer at the same time. “A game of congkak, henna art, sarong tying, balloon making and cultural performances,” are all part of the celebration of one our closest neighbours. To top it off there’ll be an “Amazing Race” styled competition for all of you adventurous competitors out there.

Whether you’re well acquainted with Malay culture or not, the Malaysia Street Festival promises to be an event that will delight and entertain, and there’s no better place to enjoy it all than the Queen Victoria Market.
