A Japanese-Inspired Menu Is Taking Over Belles Hot Chicken For 12 Days Only

Take a 12-day virtual trip to Japan at Belles Hot Chicken with a limited time menu featuring authentic Japanese flavours with a twist.

Having deeply explored Japan and its culinary creations, one dish keeps Chef Morgan McGlone going back for more. The katsu sandwich.

Traditionally made with juicy pork cutlets that are breaded and served usually with a mayonnaise, McGlone is reinventing his all-time favourite by fusing authentic Japanese flavours with the best Belles has to offer. The menu titled ‘Kyoto Protocol’ stars Belles’ delicious take on the katsu, featuring their famous fried chicken in a golden panko crumb, creamy Japanese mayo, Tonkatsu Bull-Dog sauce and crisp shredded cabbage all packed into a soft milk bun.

Drinks are sorted too with in-house booze expert Christian Robertson having specially crafted a yuzu spritz that’ll make you forget Aperol ever existed. Sweet sake and aromatic chardonnay is infused with the citrus flavours of yuzu to create the ultimate palette cleanser.

Or course Kyoto Protocol haven’t ignored that fried chicken and beer is a match made in heaven which is why they’ve teamed up with New Zealand independent brewery, Garage Project. The collaboration has spawned a unique Japanese-inspired rice lager called ‘Hatsukoi’ meaning ‘first love’ and will feature at the 12-day food fare. Crisp and delicately hoppy, this Tokyo lager is the perfect accompaniment to the Belles Katsu Sandwich.

So cancel whatever plans you had because this drool-worthy menu is popping-up at all Belles Hot Chicken stores for a limited time only from 20th-31st March 2019.
