The King of Whiskey is coming to Melbourne and, as expected with all royal celebrations, no extravagance will be spared. Jack Daniels is turning 150, and to celebrate, he is bringing Tennessee to Melbourne for the biggest whiskey celebration the city has ever seen! His palace, which comes in the form of the famous Jack Daniel’s Barrel House, is taking over Melbourne’s Southbank from June 24th – July 3rd and [HCS] has the first scoop on where to raise a glass…
Over the course of the ten day festival, the Barrel House, appropriately situated on the Crown Riverwalk, will be playing host to some cracking events and activities that will turn even the biggest of whiskey loathers into loving enthusiasts.
If having Australia’s top mixologists creating uniquely crafted drinks, honouring the distillery’s age old recipe isn’t enough, America’s award-winning BBQ destination, San Antone by Bludso’s BBQ, have specially designed a Southern American menu to add to the experience. We dare say there will be chicken!
Once you’re well fed, it’s time for some Rockabilly Dance Classes with Limpin’ Jimmy & The Swingin’ Kitten to work off all those sticky ribs. Among their impressive line-up of performers, artists and DJ’s come the internationally acclaimed Australian Rock Band, Kingswood, who teaming up with Epic Brass are headlining the festival and performing a live show straight from the Barrel House.
So make your way down to Southbank and celebrate with the King of Whiskey himself along the magical Melbourne city sky line, and be transported to the Deep South…
