A unique tasting event that combined the finest of our favourites: Coffee and Whisky.
We were honored to be invited to the immersive Whisky and Coffee tasting hosted at Veneziano Coffee Roasters, Richmond, celebrating The Macallan limited annual release of their Harmony collection. At this tasting, we met The Macallan’s latest baby, The Macallan Inspired by Intense Arabica, a single malt whisky inspired by Ethiopian Arabica coffee beans, that explores the complimentary flavours of coffee and whisky in an innovative new creation.
Greeted warmly by the inviting fragrance of freshly brewed coffee at Veneziano Coffee Roasters, the excitement to embark on this exceptional Whisky and Coffee pairing experience was percolating among guests and hosts alike.
Among a tamed jungle of lush indoor greenery, we were led to an the illuminated tasting table, accented with twinkling bottles of The Macallan Harmony Collection Inspired by Intense Arabica, aromatic coffee beans, and young coffee tree plants on display, signifying the journey of the polished product from plant to the glass.
Served with a cup of Veneziano’s signature filter coffee, a bowl of crispy popcorn and celebratory portion of The Macallan Harmony Collection Inspired By Intense Arabica, All presented on placemats displaying this edition’s spiral of flavour profiles to experience. With opening aromas of gingerbread, vanilla, forest fruits, cappuccino to tiramisu. The combination of flavours, aromas and textures of this tasting trio invigorated the senses and invited us to explore deeper into The Macallan artistry.
Guests were taken on a verbal tour of the origins of both coffee and whisky, as well as The Macallan’s aspirations and ambitions of this achievement, which involved collaborations with world renowned coffee masters, to create a unique and decadent whisky with a palate of espresso, dark chocolate, raisins, blackberry, vanilla, Brazil nut and sweet oak, to a long, dark roast coffee finish.
It’s safe to say, It’s coffee time at The Macallan.
