With the winter chill sinking in, Welcome To Thornbury’s Hot Sauce and Chilli Festival has landed just in time to heat things up for Melbournians.
Returning for yet another year and promising to bring the heat, the food festival celebrates the hottest locally-made sauces and spiciest foods from across Melbourne.
There’ll be an extensive hot sauce market at WTT where punters can try and buy from local hot sauce legends as well as smaller up and coming brands. Expect to see delicious spice rubs, hot sauces, condiments, pickles and more from the likes of Melbourne Hot Sauce, Hot Chilli Mama, Danny Balboa’s Sauce Co and Blonde Chilli among others.
Wash it all down with a refreshing beverage from the bar, or if you’re feeling particularly confident we dare you to try the infamous Hot Pocket Shot as it makes its grand return. Sign the waiver first…then see if you can handle the heat. If not then the friendly bar staff will have milk on hand to relieve your taste buds.
As usual, Melbourne’s freshest food trucks will feature at the fiery fare with their own spicy menu additions. Sink your teeth into a juicy Philly Cheesesteak from Sparrows, gorge on Himalayan Sherpa’s heaven-sent dumplings or get stuck into a few golden donugs.
Dogs of course are welcome as always at WTT, but maybe leave the chilli eating for the humans.
