Dog friendly music festival hitting Melbourne this September!
As if Melbourne didn’t haven’t enough awesome festivals, we are now getting Dogapalooza!
Started in Adelaide, this two year old festival is now making its way to Melbourne on the 27th September, 2015.
Primarily a charity concert, the funds raised at Dogapalooza will help out Melbourne organisations that are raising awareness and putting a stop to animal cruelty and puppy farming everywhere.
This festival will feature live acts from all of your favourite local bands: Amistat, Cocoa Noir, Task Sultana, and Harrison Storm.
With vegetarian and vegan barbecue food available, stalls selling awesome items for your best friend, and to top that off, it is BYO beer, wine, and premixes!
Ways to help stop puppy farming:
- Don’t buy from pet stores that buy their canines from breeders.
- If you are thinking of getting a puppy or dog, consider adopting from an animal rescue centre, RSPCA or the pound.
- If you aren’t ready to give your furry friend a FURever home, consider fostering or volunteering at your local RSPCA/pound/rescuer centre.
- Donate to the cause and help the not-for-profit efforts that rescue centres make every year – this doesn’t just have to be money, it could be bedding, food, toys (but please check with your centre first as to what they accept as donations).
Dogapalooza will be held on the 27th of September at Burnley Park, Richmond from 11:30am – 5:00pm.
