Hey, you guys like movies? How good are movies right? What an awesome thing to do, especially in summer. Want them to be waaaay better? Easy.
Ben & Jerry’s Openair Cinemas Melbourne returns in November to bring us a month of movie joy.
From the 29th of November until the 20th of December, there’ll be movies screening Monday to Sunday with live music on your weekends.
A range of different films from new releases like The Walk and Spectre will be playing, classics including the 30th anniversary of Back to the Future, and you don’t even have to have taste to enjoy it with the 20th anniversary of Clueless showing.
Earlybird prices, deckchair, bean lounge and blanket hire, as well as the Volkswagen Polo Class ticket (which includes premium seating, blanket, a drink, ice cream and outstanding fuel efficiency), ensure you’ll be as comfortable as you would in any ‘expensive class’ cinema.
On the musical side of things, opening night kicks off with Melbourne artist Ariel Jacobs. Other acts to take the stage through the season include Stonefox, JR Reyne & The Val, HOWQUA and Chris Watts.
But possibly the best part of all is that Ben & Jerry’s will be scooping up free ice cream for every Sundae Session (see what they did there, a very well worked ice-cream punnet).
So the next time some random on the street strides up in your general direction and says, “Hey, you person, what’s on in Melbourne,” you now have the answer, “Ben & Jerry’s Openair Cinemas in St Kilda, that’s what’s on.”
Then turn on a heel and leave them for dust slow-mo style as you stride cinematically into the night, full soundtrack accompanying your every step.
Cool.
