This little, hard to find food truck is worth the travel. Down the side streets of Pascoe Vale off Sydney Road, Ciccio Pizza is the perfect place to enjoy some authentic wood fired pizzas during summer.
This converted shipping container it fitted with a large wood fire oven used to make their delicious pizzas and beautiful décor. There’s faux grass, old wooden barrels, old olive oil cans reused as decorations and fairy lights twinkling around the seating area.
The amazing food served at Ciccio Pizza has been inspired by Naples and Rome styles. They focus on light, crispy dough and quality flavour combinations and they do not disappoint.
The menu is full of delicious items like the classic margherita and meat lover pizzas as well as focaccias and desserts. They also have gluten-free and vegetarian options so everyone can enjoy a slice.
They also have a selection of non alcoholic drinks to choose while enjoying your pizza. They offer soft drinks, sparkling water, chinotto and aranciata rossa.
The Hawaiian pizza had a delicious, traditional, thin base and thinly sliced ham as well as cheese and of course pineapple. It was amazing. The cheese wasn’t overly stringy and it had the perfect amount of sweet pineapple.
The chef, Andrea Caroli, recommended the crowd favourite meatball focaccia and I can see why customers love it. The dough was the same one used for the pizza bases, the sauce was beautiful and all of the ingredients complemented each other perfectly.
No meal is complete without having dessert and you can’t go wrong at Ciccio Pizza. They offer calzones, chocolate mousse and tiramisu that would satisfy any sweet tooth and any fan would kick themselves for not giving it a go.
The staff is also wonderful. They were welcoming us before we got out of the carpark and were telling us about each dish on the menu. They were so helpful and friendly and were always keen to have a chat while they were making the food and as we ate.
After visiting Ciccio Pizza you’ll never want to go anywhere else. Between the beautiful seating area, friendly staff and delicious, authentic food you’ll always want to come back for more.
