Salts Meat Cheese

Family owned restaurant, Salts Meat Cheese, have already prefaced that you can indulge yourself into a good, hearty cheesy meal. So trust this name my peeps, as they know what they are talking about when it comes to cheese.

Every Wednesday night, at a price of $25 per person, Salts Meat Cheese bring out their famous New Flaming Risotto Cheese Wheel with 3 new flavours to choose from – smoked cheese, truffle pecorino or gorgonzola. That’s right I said Flaming Cheese Wheel and it is the most inconceivable, cheese-worshiping dish I have ever laid eyes on! This cheesy food preparation, known as Cacio e Pepe (trans. Pasta and Pepper), is an impressive Southern Italian tradition where warmed brandy is set alight and flambéed inside a huge semi-hollowed wheel of cheese.

As the alcohol burns off, the cheese is scraped away and the pasta is added, mixed in and served onto your plate. Un-brie-lievable! And I am sure you have seen this marvelous sensation on your Insta or Facebook feed and now it’s your turn to live this cheesy dream and post it all over your socials too (ok, we are now starting a count to see how many times I use the word cheesy in this article).

Also, do I have another cheesy surprise for you! Every Thursday night you can order half a kilo of Four Cheese Gnocchi for $35. You can share with two people or more OR just have it all to yourself. No judgments here. I mean I would totally take that as an enthusiastic challenge myself and devour the whole thing myself. My Nonna taught me well!

Located in the thriving heart of Fortitude Valley, Cloudland is a larger-than-life, very unique Italian restaurant, bar and event venue and it is like nothing we have ever seen before!

You can satisfy your cheese craving with their Quattro Formaggi Pizza $22 which includes four yummy cheeses – fior di latte, gorgonzola, provolone and parmesan and yes it is definitely a cholesterol killer but I like to say, “If it makes your heart and mind is happy, that’s what counts” so eat it, love it and adore it!

Their Margherita Pizza is also a MUST HAVE! The explosion of the sweet tomato combined with the calm, rich, stringy texture of the buffalo cheese will make your tummy super happy! It will definitely transport your taste-buds to Italy.

Cloudland offer a casual ‘order at the bar’ dining experience for lunch and dinner, Bookings are not required. If you are looking to go out for lunch that does not burn a hole in your pocket, Cloudland also has a $15 weekday Lunch menu that includes both cheesy pizzas that I have just mentioned. Who does not love a sophisticated cheese and wine night?

Situated in Fortitude Valley, Gerald’s Bar is one of Brisbane’s best bars.

Gerard’s cool, casual atmosphere is heightened by the smooth, refined concrete bar that runs along the entire venue and offers plenty of spots to sit. Equally, under a magnificent Poinciana tree, the front deck offers another choice of seating where you can indulge yourself into the bar’s signature cocktail Gerard, The Drunk (vodka, passionfruit, pomegranate and rose water) whilst enjoying the Cheese Dream board.

This $48 spread includes blue, aged and funky cheese. A sophisticated cheese option that will warm the cockles of your heart. Another cheesy plan is to choose from an assortment of cheeses that will melt in your mouth. You can also pick from eight other varieties of cheese yourself and the prices ranges from $10–12. This is already turning out to be a cute, cheesy date night.

This beautiful bar celebrates produce from local vendors and this means that it also varies from day to day, so regulars are unlikely to get bored. With other meats and salami’s to explore on a beautiful and elegant night out.

Sweet dreams are made of cheese – and they come true at Melt Brothers with their simple and beautiful cheesy toasties.

Inspired by the range and diversity of the heart-warming comfort foods in New York’s alleyways, the Melt Brothers wanted to bring back and elevated the good old Aussie toasty and with a contemporary twist. Made with fresh ingredients and served up on artisan sourdoughs, these scrumdiddlyumptious cheesy melts are so yummy and irresistible. There are also Gluten free and vegan options too.

Clearly, this sandwich shop’s specialty is Gourmet Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. Go and try the Mouse Trap $6.5 where mozzarella, cheddar cheese, thyme and Dijon mustard mix together and create a juicy sweet cheesy symphony in your mouth. When you bite into that cheese toasty, I dare you to try and pull the longest cheesiest string.
