Romeo Lane
Hidden Bar Venues

1A Crossley St, Melbourne CBD, 3000

Nestled up at the top of the CBD is this hidden gem. Romeo Lane is an intimate rustic-chic bar known for their classic cocktails. The name is a nod to Crossley Street’s past where back in the mid-1800s, the street was at the centre of the CBD’s red light district and was originally called Romeo Lane. The street’s past comes through in the bar with a little romantic and sultry feel.

The small yet cosy bar has dark timber furnishings, shelves lined with luxurious spirits and spots of greenery and fresh flowers. Romeo Lane has also provided its customers with a warm fireplace for the winter months which also adds to the old-world charm it oozes.

The sophisticated cocktails and inventive, seasonal small plates all add to the experience. There’s definitely some European influence throughout the entire venue which means you’ll see plenty of gin, sherry and cognac on the drinks list.

An added bonus is that all of their drinks come out in delicate glassware, on glass and metal coasters accompanied by a metal straw. Romeo Lane is very passionate about looking after Mother Nature and does all they can to help her out.
