Multi Venue Hire

At Abbotsford Convent, there are 31 spaces for hire on any given day – indoor and outdoor.

Spaces are available for community engagement, independent artists, community groups, corporates, and not-for-profits.

They facilitate anything from rehearsals, performances, exhibitions, workshops, classes, meetings through to live music, food and wine festivals, markets and special events.

Industrial School

The Convent's Industrial School is a multipurpose space that can be used for anything from exhibitions to live concerts, catered events, indoor markets, and more.

This venue's long, rectangular shape, together with a number of openings along the middle wall, allow it to split into two independent rooms that can connect and divide as needed.

It can also connect to the Sacred Heart Courtyard and the Magdalen Laundry for bigger events.

Magdalen Laundry

Featuring a vaulted ceiling and clerestory windows, the Convent’s Magdalen Laundry is a versatile space that can be creatively configured to suit a wide range of large events, exhibitions, conferences, and performances.

Overlooking the Convent Courtyard, with warm lighting, fireplaces, original decorative stencilling, hand-painted frieze and timberwork, the Salon and adjoining Mural Hall are ideal for meetings and workshops.

Bishops Parlour

Located next to the original formal entry doorway into the Convent building, the Bishop’s Parlour is a mid-sized space that features high ceilings, formal curtains, and a fireplace.

The Parlour’s grand foyer features extensive leadlight windows, heritage terrazzo floor tiling, and a mahogany fireplace.

Oratory

One of the Convent’s more spectacular spaces, The Oratory features polished floorboards, distressed walls, leadlight windows, a raised stage, single track dimmer lighting and a green room.

This beautiful hall is perfect for a variety of performances, rehearsals, and installations.
