Situated discreetly in the basement level of the building once home to Black Milk Clothing, the secretive spot has been designed to discover by chance. A modern-industrial space with polished concrete floors, timber, pops of greenery and black accents hosts a long coffee counter and brekky-to-go bar, along with a two-tiered seating area and a cosy nook for intimate group bookings.

Six Feet Under Newstead features a range of inventive dishes that teeter outside of the typical cafe square. The all-day menu offers a foodie’s selection of breakfast and lunch dishes, ranging from banoffee French toast with cinnamon brioche and miso caramel, to eggs benedict on a savoury waffle, to a chilli scramble with spanner crab.

Coffee on pour is by Genovese. Otherwise, there are organic Mayde teas, Prana chai, Cleanse Kitchen juices and organic low-sugar sodas by Soda Press Co.

Step outside the box with this unique new dining experience in the heart of Newstead. Great to know – the venue transforms into a function venue by night.
