GIVEAWAY TIME! WIN A DOUBLE PASS TO OZ COMIC CON IN SYDNEY BY TAGGING WHO YOU WOULD TAKE IN OUR FACEBOOK POST!
After a successful event in Melbourne, the ultimate celebration of pop-culture returns to Sydney on the 28th-29th September! Oz Comic-Con is Australia’s largest pop-culture convention where fans of comics, anime, manga, video games and cos-playing gather to celebrate their passions.
Every year, Oz Comic-Con has guest appearances from movie and TV stars, show writers, comic book illustrators, voice actors and more. There are also workshops and industry panels for those who want to learn more about breaking into the fields such as films, TV and even illustration.
We’ve also got a double pass giveaway for the event! To enter, simply check out the Hidden City Secrets Facebook post here and tag the friend that you would take to the convention!
Sydney’s guest appearances include Hayley Atwell, who played Peggy Carter in the Captain America movies; Aaron Dismuke, the voice for Alphonse Elric from Full Metal Alchemist as well as Tamaki from Boku No Hero Academia; and KJ Apa, who has the lead role as Archie Andrews on Riverdale!
Oz Comic-Con also plays host to the Australian Championships of Cosplay, the most prestigious costume contest in Australia, presented by Spotlight and Brother.
Australia is the first stop in this global competition. The overall Australian winner will represent their country at the 2020 C2E2 Championships of Cosplay in Chicago – so, start prepping your cosplay now!
The convention will also hold gaming tournaments – where your skills get tested by others besides your siblings – and free-play opportunities for upcoming games. Of course, there will be exclusive merchandise that can’t be bought anywhere else, so can flex on your mates for the rest of time.
Do you bleed MARVEL or DC? Then pay a visit to the Comic District where feature guests from major comic publications are appearing. Want to avoid the hordes of Batman fans? You can chill at the Comics Library and enjoy a read. If you’re with your children there is also kids comic artist workshops, a MARVEL colouring wall and a Kids Cosplay Parade – so, there’s something for everyone.
Maybe you’re more into things like Super Smash Bros. or Street Fighter. If that’s the case, unleash your sweet technique at the Gaming Zone. If you’re not too competitive, relax in the free play gaming area.
At Oz Comic-Con there’s something for everyone – it’s an event for the whole family!
