Step into another era with a visit to Parliament House. Built in 1865, the building is one of Queensland’s leading heritage sites. The events are designed to inspire, educate and showcase the best Queensland has to offer.

CELLAR

The Cellar is the most intimate and private function room. Traditionally used to store boutique wines, the cellar was recently updated to offer an exclusive dining experience. It is ideal for small meetings, private lunches or dinners, or small networking receptions.

LUCINDA BAR

Steeped in history and character, the Lucinda Bar is the perfect location for networking events, private lunches or small cocktail receptions. Named after the Queensland Government's paddle-steamer, the Lucinda, the bar was constructed using timber from the original ship.

PREMIERS’ HALL

Boasting a permanent stage, lofty ceilings, wood panelling and an array of historical artworks, the Premiers’ Hall is an impressive venue. Ideal for seminars, product launches, medium-sized cocktail receptions, and board meetings.

SPEAKERS’ HALL

The Speakers’ Hall offers an expansive space which has the versatility to accommodate a wide range of functions. This space is suitable for 200 standing guests, 160 in theatre style or 96 seated at tables. Can be combined with the Premiers’ Hall.

GREEN DECK

With sprawling views of Parliament House, the Green Deck offers a unique outlook taking in the Speaker’s Green, gardens and the façade of Parliament House. Suitable for cocktail functions, receptions or informal barbeques, this venue has a maximum capacity of 280.

RIVER DECK

With breathtaking views of Brisbane River, the eponymously named River Deck is venue like to no other. Suitable for cocktail functions, receptions or informal barbeques, this venue has a maximum capacity of 320.

Speaker’s Dining Room

The perfect location for a unique boardroom lunch or meeting. Speaker’s Dining Room offers a light filled space with views of Speaker’s Green and Parliament House. Up to 22 seated guests can be accommodated.

Undumbi Room

The Undumbi Room was temporarily used as the chamber whilst renovations occurred in Parliament House. As such the Undumbi Room boasts a fantastic range of features including a large projector screen, permanent stage, smart lectern, microphone and audio system. Located in the Parliamentary Annexe this space is suitable for 250 standing guests, 230 in theatre style or 150 seated at tables.

STRANGERS’ DINING ROOM

Strangers’ Dining Room is so called because the term “stranger” is the traditional way of referring to someone physically present in the Palace of Westminster who is neither a member of parliament nor a parliamentary official. In 2004, a motion was approved implementing the recommendation of the Modernisation Committee that the term stranger no longer be used and be replaced with either “member of the public” or “the public”. Strangers’ Dining Room features intricate parquetry floors and stunning period features. Furnished with early Australian cedar yoke back chairs which were probably used in the early refreshment room. It is possible that some of these chairs were used in the original legislative building in the old convict barracks in Queen Street. This space can seat 80 guests or accommodate 100 standing.
