Mark This 1-Day Gin Festival On Your Calendar ASAP!

There’s an old saying. When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade.

Well we beleive in the updated version of this adage; when life gives you lemons (or limes in this case), you make a gin and tonic. And apparently we’re not the only ones who feel this way, cause the good people of The Boatbuilders Yard are hosting Australia’s biggest celebration of gin; Juniperlooza!

Named after the Juniper berry from which gin gets its distinct flavour, Juniperlooza is a celebration of all things gin related! All you gin enthusiasts will be spoiled for choice with over 21 boutique Australian and international gin producers all signed up and ready to blow your mind with their delish concoctions. Each stall will have on offer their signature gin cocktails, as well as buckets full of gin and tonics (duh!)

All the big names in the gin game will be there; Cedar Fox, Ink Gin and Patient Wolf are amongst the few, and Strangelove will be there taking care of all your tonic needs. After all, what is a gin without its tonic?

And as all us responsible drinkers have learned (some the hard way), drinking on an empty stomach is a big no-no, and Juniperlooza have got you covered in this department too! From small bite sized morsels to something more hefty like a burger, all your drunk food cravings will be making an appearance at Juniperlooza.juniperlooza gin festival south wharf boatbuilders yard

Now for those of you wanting to step your gin game up a notch, to go from novice to connoisseur, Juniperlooza also has on offer ‘Talk and Taste Sessions’. These intimate sessions held throughout the day give you gin lovers a chance to talk with producers and learn the finer points of everyone’s fave spirit. Not only is this free to all Juniperlooza goers, but it also means you’ll be able to appear as a sophisticated appreciator of gin, rather than a gin crazed fiend whose appreciation and knowledge on the subject goes as far as “gin tastes good”.

A fun time is to be had by all at Juniperlooza, with entertainment, DJ’s and unique performing artists wandering around, this is a summer event not to be missed! And best of all – each Palooza patron will receive a free gin token to get the ball rolling AND a stainless steel straw that is not only stylish af, but more importantly reusbable and totally eco- friendly. That is a huge plus in our books (yes our book is made of recycled paper, in case you were wondering).

Strangelove’s James Bruce put it best in our opinion; “Gin and Tonic. Sunshine. Umbrellas. Delicious Food. Open-toe Footwear. Seriously, what’s not to love?” We predict a total sell out of this insanely fun event, so make sure to get in quick!”

Honestly, what else could beat a cool and refreshing G&T on a hot summer’s day?
