What do an American, a Spaniard and damn good bread have in common? The Flour Factory.
Stay with me.
The 100 year old building housed on Queen St has had its own re-embodiment, but rather than turning wheat into flour, the old flour mill is churning out some top quality food and drinks that are the hype of the town.
Open the door and you’ll find a buzzing atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional New York deli. Then mix this with the sights and smells of a Spanish Bodega. Chuck in a butcher and a baker and the only thing missing is the candle stick maker for which their house-baked sourdough totally makes up for. It offers fine dining without the snobbery, instead focusing on what’s important – the food and of course the drinks, namely gin.
The Flour Factory are the self-proclaimed ‘gin enthusiasts’ of Perth, claiming to house the largest gin and fortified wine collection in the city…
Now I’m not sure about you, but choosing one could become a gravely overwhelming ordeal due to the sheer amount of options but fear not, they have made choosing simple and painless by the creating their very own ‘Wheel of Gin’. Each number corresponds to a gin sprawled along the back wall of the bar. The bartender will give it a spin and there you have it – we think it’s GIN-ious.
Situated on the top floor of the Flour Factory you’ll find The Sherry, one of Perth’s hidden rooftop bars that is always buzzing with after work goers and weekend partiers and offers a little garden oasis in the middle of the CBD.
Up here is where you will also find The Factory, the widely popular function space. Whether you are planning a special birthday, engagement party, wedding, conference or product launch, the Factory makes the perfect space to host your next special occasion or corporate event.
