Whether you’re from the homeland, you’re pretending to be for the day, or you’re a leprechaun and still not sure sure sure, St Patrick’s Day falls on Friday 17th March, so it’s time to get your liver ready for a weekend full of fun!

Chuck a sicky this St Paddy’s Day and head down to P.J O’Brien’s instead for a full day bender. Enjoy a full Irish breakfast from 8 – 11am for $25, price includes a pint of Guinness as well (Guinness and Scrambled eggs, why not?)

One day of celebration not enough? Don’t you worry, child! The Wild Rover will have celebrations running from March 13 – 19, so put in your annual leave asap!

Kicking off the festivities on March 13th will be The Irish Whiskey Fair Fundraiser, where all profits will go to the charity “Darkness Into Light”. Entry includes Whiskey tasting tokens, a glass for all your tastings and some nibblies.

Tuesday March 14th will be a special Irish Pop Trivia, so brush up on your Irish knowledge to be in the running to win a $100 bar voucher. Don’t worry, you can also join in if you’re not Irish, as they say, you gotta be in it to win it.

On March 15th, head down for a one-night-only whiskey tasting. Here’s a treat, all whiskeys available have not yet been released in stores! If you’re a real whiskey lover, this one is for you.

All of these festivities are leading up to the big day on Friday 17th. Doors open at midday with $5 Guinness and $5 Jamieson all day until 6pm. There will be live music playing all weekend so head on down in your best green outfit and check it out!

The biggest Irish venue in the CBD is a one stop shop if you’re looking for a party! This St Paddy’s Bonanza will kick on all day and all night with food, drinks and all the good tunes in one place.

For this special occasion doors will open at 5am! Breakfast doesn’t start until 7am, so what you do in those two hours between doors opening and breakfast is up to your discretion, we don’t judge.

Music will run all day and night from 9am till late, all three floors will be pumping out the tunes for you to jig the night away.

This is a free entry event, with $5 pints and $5 vodkas all night. Scruffy Murphy’s is definitely the place to be this St Paddy’s Day!

The Green Gathering

Held on Sunday 19th of March, The Sydney St Patrick’s Day Festival is the single biggest Irish festival in Australia, and will bring a little bit of Ireland to Prince Albert Park.

This non for profit organisation is run by a group of volunteers looking to celebrate the history, progression and spirit of the Irish community.

This free event will feature marching bands, a parade, Irish dancers and all the food and drinks you can enjoy. There will be stalls offering crafts and goods, and there will be live music from The Bottlers, Chaika, Knievel and many more to keep you dancing throughout the day.

The festivities kick off from 12 – 6pm, so bring the whole family down and get involved.

The Dog Hotel

Karaoke Friday’s with an Irish twist at The Dog Hotel this St Paddy’s Day. Come down to sing a tune and dance an Irish jig, and you could be in the draw for some prizes and drink giveaways!

If belting out “Danny Boy” isn’t your scene, there will be awesome specials all night with $9 pints of Guinness and the double decker “Irish Burger” to tickle your taste buds.
