The South Melbourne Night Markets return in 2016 with a super long season for ten weeks from 7 January – 10 March. Good times, come at us!
Everyone in Melbourne knows that South Melbourne is the place to haunt at the beginning of each year, the night markets a must-do event on all of our summer social calendars.
As summer nears, we once again look forward to Thursday nights as our favourite markets come alive and we are treated to the summer winds filled with the scent of delicious food, the sight of one-of-a-kind bits and bobs framed by charmingly quaint stalls, and the sounds of local, live entertainment.
The yet-to-be-announced bands and wandering performers will be spread throughout the markets as you peruse what is on offer with the kids in tow.
Survey the stalls along the perimeter of the markets, indulge in an impulsive purchase, or five, sample some of the beverages and foodstuffs on offer from multiple food trucks, stalls, and carts, before diving into the throng of the creative centre ‘SO:ME Space’. A haven for all things unique, funky, and innovative, SO:ME Space will contain shops and pop-up stalls where the best of the best designers will be peddling their wares.

Stall favourites, Greek Street Food, Nem n Nem, The Snag Society, White Guy Cooks Thai, Those Girls Iced Tea and The Brûlée Cart, will be in attendance. As will the permanent al fresco diners, Simply Spanish, Linx BBQ Yum Cha, Paco Y Lola, Köy and Claypots Evening Star.
